Grow Up

Today's post title is another song from Paramore, I've been listening to their new album quite a bit lately, I'm really enjoying their new sound!  In other news, I have an exciting announcement!  I've finished the one person dialogue I've been working on!  Below is the final piece, I hope you enjoy it!  I feel like I've improved greatly from my last piece but at the same time my sense of accomplishment is diminished because I know I have so much more to learn.  Hopefully I can take all that I've learned and apply it to my next piece.  I'll be doing a two person dialogue this time and hope to be shooting my reference soon since I've already got my audio clip picked out.  I'm nervous but excited to progress onto a more challenging piece.  Stay tuned for more exciting things!  The total time on this was roughly 38 hours.

Wonder Woman

I work full-time and also fully believe in work-life balance.  I also have mild health issues that at times force me to put all my energy and effort into work (ya know, the job I get paid to do on a daily basis), leaving little energy at the end of the day for me to pursue my own passions.   So when progress started to slow and practically come to a stand-still on my dialogue piece, I knew it was time to address it.  I was learning, but didn't feel like I was getting anywhere.  Whether I've abandoned it or not, I'm not sure and frankly don't care in this moment.  I just know I needed to get back to doing some fun shit and getting excited to sit down at my computer at night (after sitting at it for 8 hours already during the day).   Wonder Woman was the perfect catalyst.  I thought it was going to be good, but had no idea it was going to be such an emotional experience for me.  After almost 10+ years of watching male superheroes tear up the big screen, I was

Box Jump

Well now that the holidays are over, I'm finally able to work on some side projects that had to be put on the back burner   This first one is just a simple box jump, below is the first works in progress video.  I've completed my first round of blocking and will begin further refining my blocking before moving on to splining. I've decided to do some shorter, more simple animations for awhile.  I feel I'm struggling a little bit, so I want to build my confidence as an animator with these shorter animations.  Enjoy!
