Completed Work

Sword Attack Cycle #2 from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
Another attack cycle I created as an animation test.  Studio provided the rig.  As with the previous attack, this piece was just the right balance of challenging and fun.  Loved looking up different reference files and enjoyed animating something very new to me.

Sword Attack Cycle #1 from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
An attack cycle I completed as an animation test.  Studio provided the rig.  This was the first time I've ever tackled a looping attack and it was a ton of fun.  I enjoyed looking up different reference files and felt this piece was particularly rewarding.

Character Idle from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
A character idle I completed as an animation test.  Studio provided the rig.  This was the first time I've ever attempted an idle loop and actually really enjoyed it.  I enjoyed giving attention to the small subtleties.

Character Run Cycle from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
A run cycle I completed as an animation test.  Studio provided the rig.  Run and walk cycles are always a huge test of patience for me because I believe it requires some serious methodical thought and small nudging of keys to get it to look just right.

Dragon Walk Cycle (Quadruped) from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
A challenging piece that initially started out as a fun test to get the hang of a quadruped walk cycle, but quickly turned into a final, polished piece.  I wanted something completely different to work with, so I decided on a dragon and have never worked with a 4-legged animal before, so that was also an appealing unknown.  It was tough and I'm reminded how grueling cycles can be, but well worth it!  Drake dragon rig courtesy of Long Winter Studios.

Zombie & T-Rex Short Final from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
A fun piece I did involving two unlikely friends!  And one really just wants to play!  Really enjoyed bringing this piece to life and love how different it is from anything else I've done.  Working with two nonhuman (and non-existant, really) characters was a challenge, but I sure did learn a lot!  Zombie rig courtesy of Sony (it's from Hotel Transylvania, I believe) and T-Rex rig courtesy of Joel Anderson (via Creative Crash).  Enjoy!

A three-person dialogue piece utilizing the Morpheus rig (yup, three times) via Josh Burton with one of the more enjoyable audio clips I've used.  I really felt like things were starting the click mentally for me working on this piece and I enjoyed the challenge of working with three different characters, each with their own personalities!  Enjoy!

Above is my first go at a two person dialogue.  It was a little more enjoyable as well as more challenging working on a piece that had multiple characters in it.  I liked the idea of having two contrasting characters within the same scene, it was exciting to work with.  I am responsible for the lighting and rendering.  iPhone model downloaded for free from thefree3dmodels.com.  Morpheus rig (courtesy of Josh Burton) utilized for both characters.

Footloose Dance Final from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
Above is the first go at a dance piece, inspired by the 2011 remake of FootLoose as well as my love of country music and line dancing.  I really enjoyed animating this piece, it really tested me as an animator and I enjoyed doing something different from a dialogue piece.  Chose Morpheus rig for this animation.

Second One Person Dialogue Final from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
Another more challenging one person dialogue, I really enjoyed this piece and am proud of it.  So much learned from this animation!  The Toon Teddy Bear 3D model downloaded for free from thefree3dmodels.com (I did not model it).  Utilized Morpheus rig.

One Person Dialogue Final from Katie Canadas on Vimeo.
Here is a simple one person dialogue piece I animated.  I enjoyed the dialogue in this clip and had so much fun working on this.  I'm always learning and I love it.  Again I utilized the Eleven Second Club rig.
